It actually depends. Having an Ipod is a great way for them to have music wherever they go. A cell phone is great for contacting them or a great way for them to make an emergency call when needed but getting them an electronic scooter is going to get them to become lazy.

There is this new gadget in town. I forgot the name of the it but I remember the commercial. The boy is holding a pen(which is the gadget) and he is writing equations and things like that on a paper. As he writes, the pen kind of talks to him. Let’s say he was writing, four times four, the pen would say it and show him exactly how to do it and give him the answer.

If he writes something in French, like a French word. For example, “rapide”. The pen would say the word and then say the same word but in English. So instead of going into ans English/french dictionary to look up the word, he gets lazy by writing the word and getting the answer.

I love gadgets. I cannot live without them but I take a good look at them first. I am a lazy person and I am sure of it. That is why I do not buy gadgets that I know will make me lazier. So I think that this shows us that some gadgets are helpful and some gadgets are “harmful”.
